GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — The Michigan Department of Natural Resources suspects the bald eagle found dead Tuesday was accidental.

The bird was found near Skipper Bud's in Grand Haven. According to the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety, DNR took possession of the eagle and sent it to a facility where a necropsy will be done.

An initial exam of the eagle didn't find any metal fragments or evidence of gunshot wounds.

They do not suspect foul play at this time, but results are still pending.
