Search to resume for vehicle believed to have driven into Kalamazoo River

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Officials in Calhoun County said the search will continue on Sunday for a vehicle that reportedly drove into the Kalamazoo River Saturday.

Crews said they began searching in the area of Hamblin Avenue around 5 a.m. on Saturday.

Divers searched underwater and believe the car entered the river near West Dickman Road and Capital Ave SW around 4:45 a.m. this morning.

It is not yet clear how many people were inside the vehicle when it went into the river.

A helicopter was called into assist crews in their search.
