CODLWATER, Mich. — Drug investigators say they’ve made arrests after suspecting individuals of diverting electricity from Consumers Energy to grow marijuana.
Detectives from the Southwest Enforcement Team say they executed a search warrant at a Branch County home. They say they found suspects violating the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act, possessing 56 plants in various stages of growth and about 100 schedule 2 prescription medications.
Consumers Energy estimates that almost $72,000 worth of utilities was diverted for the grow operation.
