Even LeBron James is impressed with the viral Hamilton musical spoof from Dose that has gone viral.
The video from Dose tells the story of LeBron’s career from high school up until today.
LeBron told ABC News: “It’s great. It’s unbelievable, actually.”
Here’s more from Dose:
LeBron James’ insane career has unfolded play-for-play in such a spectacular fashion, it might as well be live theater. Growing up in Akron, Ohio, he played the part of a young prodigy, garnering national attention as the top basketball player in the country, then skipped college and got drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
With the Cavs, he became a hero: won Rookie of the Year, took a terrible 2005 team to the finals only to be swept by the Spurs, then left Cleveland to join the Miami Heat.
The hero became the villain and led Miami in back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013. But like any good leading man, he returned to his hometown roots and helped the Cavaliers claim their first championship in 2016.
If there’s anything with as much momentum as LeBron himself, it’s “Hamilton,” a Broadway musical that’s changing both history and theater forever. That’s why it just makes sense to combine the two powerful narratives, to pit Curry vs. LeBron in a parody of the lead song “Alexander Hamilton.”
Full lyrics:
STEPHEN CURRY: How do you block him, stop him, run out the clock on this Sportsmen, four time MVP, with more time on the court as a freshmen the best of them get celebrated, then hated, then back home fully decorated.
DWAYNE WADE: Small forward, father of three, without a father. Future looking brighter, St. Vincent was much whiter, he felt like an outsider, he kept the D tighter. At 14, he’s getting watched by each team and every sports writer.
KYRIE IRVING: And every year more people came to see him filling the stands. Had to play in Akron’s stadium to supply those demands. He was close to pro that he could smell that sweet aroma. Went and asked the NBA to let him join with no diploma.
CHRIS BOSH: Then the ’03 draft came, first pick of the first round. LeBron’s gonna get to drib-dribble, in his hometown. L-Train starts his reign, with the Rookie of the Year. First time for a Cavalier, but the future’s still unclear.
CURRY: The Cavs rebound, three trips to the Eastern conference, makes all star that will give a guy some confidence. Countdown free agency after the Olympics. He’s tearing off his jersey and the world’s shouting what’s next?
LEBRON JAMES: I’m gonna take my talents to South Beach. I’m gonna go join the Miami Heat. There’s a championship I haven’t won. I just can’t wait, just can’t wait.
REPORTER: July 8th, live at nine. James makes the decision. Free agent flying south, nearly breaks the television. Burnt jerseys in a pile, Dan Gilbert rants for awhile. Gilbert got fined, and Lebron just smiled.
WADE & BOSH: Moved down to Miami, Wade and Bosh made the Big Three. Getting triple-doubles, mastermind Pat Riley. The choice, haunting him with infamous dissension. He could hear America rooting the Mavericks on against him.
CURRY: What does four years in Florida afford for the finest. He wins two, loses two, but not quite a dynasty. Looking toward the future more than titles is his long game. Best that ever played, has a ring that he might claim. Miami was the right place to win it for the wrong reason. Exclusive on SI, going home for a new season. Bows his head as he slips his jersey on again. In Cleveland he can build it up again.
LEBRON & ENSEMBLE:
In Cleveland he can build it up again. I just can’t wait. In Cleveland he can build it up again. I just can’t wait. In Cleveland he can build it up again. In Cleveland…
LEBRON: I just can’t wait!
ENSEMBLE:
Here come the Cavaliers. Here come the Cavaliers. Irving, Smith, Love and James. Irving, Smith, Love and James. You got an armband on. You got a secret motivation this time. Oh, here come the Cavaliers. Cleveland is so proud of you.
How did you overcome three to one? How did you outshine the Golden Son? The game will never be the same.
CURRY: What was the motivation now that your quest is completed? Someone said that it was a mistake to leave the Heat. It begs the questions how long can LeBron stay undefeated?
BOSH, WADE & IRVING: We won with him, and lost with him.
MICHAEL JORDON: Me? I never played him.
NBA FANS: WE LOVE HIM!!!
CURRY: Me? Gonna take another shot at him.
ENSEMBLE: There’s a million shots still left to take. I just can’t wait.
CURRY: What’s your name man?
ENSEMBLE: LeBron James of Cleveland.
