NEW YORK – Skidders Footwear is recalling a line of children’s shoes that were sold exclusively at Meijer stores.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the canvas tennis shoes have rivets that have sharp edges.  There have been three reports of the rivets scratching the feet of the wearer.  No other injuries have been reported.

About 5,500 pairs of shoes are being recalled.  They were sold at Meijer stores in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and Wisconsin between August and October 2016 for about $10.

The shoes came in three sizes: 12M, 18M and 24M .  The shoes have white rubber bottoms and come in three different designs:

  • Navy blue fabric with orange rivets and laces
  • Gray fabric with green rivets and laces
  • Denim-colored fabric with pink rivets and laces

Anyone who bought the shoes should contact Skidders at 1-866-636-1221 or on their website.
