MUSKEGON, Mich. – A Muskegon man has been sentenced to one year in jail for placing his seven-month old son in a dumpster in July.
Andrew Wingett, 33, pleaded guilty to Child Abuse, 2nd degree, in October. He was sentenced in Muskegon’s 14th Circuit Court on Monday. He was also ordered to have no contact with children for three years, unless the family court allows for visitation.
The boy was found crying in a dumpster at the Muskegon Rescue Mission by an employee on July 23. The child was not harmed.
