WEST MICHIGAN-  You’ve probably noticed that the days are getting shorter recently.  This is often the case as we march toward winter, but I figured it’s a good time to break down just how close we are to that early darkness.

We’re losing daylight at a rate of about 2 minutes per day right now.  Our normal sunrise time is just a little after 8 in the morning and our sun sets about a quarter before 7.

We set our clocks back for “Fall Back” on Sunday, November 6th.  At this point, our sun will be up slightly earlier.  You’ll really notice the difference as we get completely dark by 5:30, with days continuing to shorten through the months of November and December.
