Volunteers are needed to wade and clean up the Kalamazoo River for the 16th annual Krazy for the Kazoo on Saturday.
Krazy for the Kazoo is Battle Creek's River Conservation Day event, where volunteers will clean up trash, debris, tires, and invasive species that can contaminate the water quality of the Kalamazoo River.
There will be an opening ceremony, followed by cleaning up the river and a complimentary lunch. Other communities will also be cleaning up areas the Kalamazoo River flows through.
All volunteers will get a t-shirt deigned by a local student.
Volunteers will meet to register at 8:30 a.m. at Bailey Park's C.O. Brown Stadium.
If you're interested in volunteering, call (269) 213-3803 to register. To pre-register a school group, call (269) 213-3803.
