ZEELAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A 69-year-old Cedar Springs man was critically injured in a crash involving two semi-trucks along westbound I-196.

The crash happened just before 2 p.m. near the Byron Road exit.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says a semi-truck was stopping for slowed traffic and was rear-ended by the other.

Keith Tyler, the driver who officials say rear-ended the first semi, was pinned in his vehicle and had to be extricated.  He is hospitalized in critical condition.

Westbound I-196 was shut down but reopened as of 5:46 p.m.
