PENTWATER, Mich. — A 10-year-old Lansing girl drowned Monday in Oceana County.
The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office says officials were called to Lake Michigan north of Charles Mears State Park at about 3:47 p.m.
According to a release, Hanna Harris went missing in the water after falling off a paddle board. She was not wearing a life jacket.
Harris was recovered from the water before officials arrived at the scene.
Emergency responders attempted to revive her but were unsuccessful, according to a release.
