BELDING, Mich.-- Another milestone was made Tuesday for the Belding Veterans Park project with a brand new granite map of Vietnam added to honor the veterans who made it back home after the war.
FOX 17 spoke with the man in charge of the project, Denny Craycraft, about the latest addition to the park.
The new granite monument has a large map of Vietnam etched on it to show families of veterans where they were at during the war, and where they served.
In addition to the granite memorial, there will be a dozen pillars put up to honor men and women from Belding and Greenville who served in Vietnam. It took six months to make the monument.
A dedication will be held on August 2 at 3:00p.m. at Belding Park for the memorial, and the goal is to have even more added to it by next summer. The cost of the entire project is $160,000.
