MONROE, Mich. (AP) — Monroe County authorities say a suspect has been arrested in the death of a 22-year-old Michigan woman whose remains were found six months after she disappeared from a Halloween party.
The Monroe News reports a 27-year-old Newport man was arrested Friday afternoon and is expected to face charges Monday.
Chelsea Bruck of Maybee went missing Oct. 26, 2014, after attending a large party in Monroe County’s Frenchtown Township. Her costume was found April 5 at an abandoned industrial site in Flat Rock. Her remains were found in a grave April 24 on a wooded lot in Ash Township.
The Michigan State Police recently linked crime scene evidence to the suspect, and the man told investigators he was involved in Bruck’s murder.
Sheriff Dale Malone says the man acted alone.
