(CNN) — Some of Hillary Clinton’s top Democratic surrogates — and members of her family — will headline the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia later this month, according to a release from the convention’s organizers.
President Barack Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders will give headlining speeches during the convention in Philadelphia, as will former President Bill Clinton and Chelsea Clinton, the husband and daughter of the presumptive nominee.
Mimicking Clinton’s general election campaign slogan — “Stronger Together” — the Democratic convention will look to highlight Clinton’s career and the importance of working together to accomplish America’s goals.
Monday night — titled “United Together” — will feature primetime speeches by Sanders, Michelle Obama and Astrid Silva, an immigration activist and focus on “putting the future of American families front and center and how we’re stronger together when we build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top,” according to the convention’s release.
The fact that Sanders, Clinton’s rival in the Democratic primary, will speak in primetime is a nod to his power inside the Democratic electorate and the impact he had on the party during his presidential bid.
Tuesday — titled “A Lifetime of Fighting for Children and Families” — will feature primetime speeches by former President Bill Clinton, the nominee’s husband and the roll call vote, where each state pledges its delegates to either the presumptive nominee or Sanders.
The Mothers of the Movement, mothers who have lost children in law enforcement or crime shootings, will also speak. The mothers include Gwen Carr, mother of Eric Garner; Sybrina Fulton, mother of Trayvon Martin; Maria Hamilton, mother of Dontré Hamilton; Lucia McBath, mother of Jordan Davis; Lezley McSpadden, mother of Michael Brown; Cleopatra Pendleton-Cowley, mother of Hadiya Pendleton and Geneva Reed-Veal, mother of Sandra Bland.
The day will focus on “how Hillary has spent her entire career working to make a difference for children, families, and our country,” the convention announced.
Wednesday — titled “Working Together” — will feature speeches by President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden and will highlight Clinton’s ability to work with people and how she “has the experience and steadiness to bring people together to tackle the big challenges and get real results.”
Obama is expected, as he did when he endorsed Clinton earlier this month, to note how his relationship with Clinton has gone from colleague to rival to partner.
Thursday night will feature Clinton’s primetime address, where the then nominee “will speak about her vision for our country — her belief that we are stronger together and that America is at its best when we work together to solve our problems.”
Chelsea Clinton, Hillary Clinton’s daughter, will also speak on Thursday night.
Hosts of other speakers will address the assembled Democrats in Philadelphia later this month, but those names are expected to be announced later.
By the time Democrats coverage on Pennsylvania, Clinton is expected to have filled her vice presidential job and that nominee will also speak in primetime.
