PHOENIX -- Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow was on a Delta Airlines flight on Sunday when a passenger suffered a heart attack. While crew members helped the victim, Tebow prayed with family members and other passengers, according to multiple reports.
After the man collapsed during the flight from Atlanta to Phoenix, Tebow sprang into action, ABC News reports.
According to Richard Gotti’s Facebookpost, as the crew and passengers rushed to help, Tebow made his way toward the unconscious man. Gotti wrote:
“The crew of Delta Airlines were amazing. They acted in a fast and professional manner! Then all of a sudden, I observed a guy walking down the aisle. I observed a guy walking down the aisle. That guy was Tim Tebow. He met with the family as they cried on his shoulder! I watched Tim pray with the entire section of the plane for this man. He made a stand for God in a difficult situation.”
After the plane landed, the man received medical attention and was transported to a hospital where he later died, according to PEOPLE.
An Instagram user said Tebow helped the woman deplane and get their baggage. KGET reports Tebow then took the man's wife to the hospital.
According to PEOPLE, Tebow waited with the family until they received news that he had passed away. The man, who was in his 60s, was traveling with his wife and a friend.
