GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A portion of the northeast side of Grand Rapids is currently without power.

According to the Consumers Energy Outage Map, the outage happened at about 9:10 a.m.  Consumers Energy tells us power for most people may be back on as early as noon.

The traffic signals at Plainfield Avenue at 3 Mile Road, 3 Mile at Fuller Avenue, and North Park Street at Coit Avenue are not operating. Reports to us indicate the rest of the lights on Plainfield Avenue are operating.

Consumers said the cause was a squirrel in a substation.
