GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Already convicted for sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend, former cop Ryan Bruggink pleaded guilty on child pornography charges.
Bruggink – previously a Grand Rapids police officer – entered a guilty plea in court Wednesday to one count of possessing child sexually abusive material and one count of using a computer to commit a crime.
The child pornography charges stem from allegations that he received sexually explicit photo from a 17-year-old girl. Bruggink allegedly shared these photos with others.
Bruggink was previously sentenced to 2-15 years in prison for sexually assaulting his girlfriend in November 2014. An additional sentence will be delivered on the child porn charges July 5.
