BLOOMINGDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Van Buren County woman survived a scary situation on a rural road Monday afternoon.
The sheriff’s department says that Shirley Noble, 79, was driving a Ford Ranger east on 6th Avenue near County Road 665 when she went to pass a tractor pulling a 50-foot wide disc and Harrower. While she passed, the disc on the driver’s side of the tractor lost its hydraulics and sheared off the roof of Noble’s pickup truck.
Noble was pinned in her vehicle and had to be extricated by the Bloomingdale Fire Department. She was taken to Bronson Hospital with serious injuries.
The tractor and discs also took out numerous mailboxes along 6th Avenue.
The incident is still under investigation.
