1 killed in overnight shooting, no suspect in custody

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — No arrests have been made after one person was shot and killed early Wednesday morning on the city's south east side.

Police received the call for a possible shooting at a home at 255 Dickinson SE at around 1:45 a.m.  When officers arrived, they found a victim, identified as Mark Toliver, 27, who had been shot on the front porch of the residence.  Toliver had gunshot wounds to the neck and chest.  He died as a result of his injuries.

Police attempted to locate a suspect, but so far, nobody is in custody.

The circumstances of what led up to the shooting are currently under investigation.
