Victim identified in Kalamazoo shooting

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- One person was killed and two others were injured on Monday night, after a fight escalated into a shooting investigation in Kalamazoo.

It all happened at around 10:00 p.m. in the area of Westnedge and Mabel in Kalamazoo.  Police say a group of people were involved in a fight, when gunshots were fired.  When officers arrived, they found a 38-year-old man with a single gunshot wound.  He died at the hospital.

The victim has been identified as Niquay DeJuan Baker.  Police say that he was a Kalamazoo native who was currently living in Illinois.

Two other men showed up at the hospital within minutes of the shooting.  They are expected to survive.

There is no suspect information available.  Police continue to investigate the shooting.
