WEST MICHIGAN — A full moon Saturday night and now great views of Mars for Sunday. It's a celestial double feature for us in Michigan.
The Mars opposition occurs every two years, but tonight it's closer than it has been in 10 years.
The map below is for the British Isles, but since it is also in the Northern Hemisphere it applies to Michigan. The only difference, our moon tonight is in Waning Gibbous, not full moon.
