GRANT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 12-year-old boy is dead after a crash in Newaygo County Friday evening.
It happened just after 5:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of 22 Mile Rd. and Elder Ave. in Grant Township.
Deputies say the crash involved two cars. Deputies said they found bystanders performing CPR on the boy, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car the boy was riding in was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Two people in the second car were treated at the scene.
The accident is still under investigation. Authorities said alcohol does not appear to be factor.
