CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 28th Street and Cascade Road Saturday evening.

It happened around 9:00 p.m. Police said a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix was speeding while driving east on Cascade Road when it hit a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox that had just turned from 28th Street onto Cascade Road.

The driver of the Grand Prix, 20-year-old Colin Kerkstra, and his passenger, 17-year-old Kylee Christian, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

Two people in the Equinox, John and Nancy Pierce, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Deputies believe speed and alcohol are both factors in the crash.
