BARRY COUNTY, Mich. – A Barry County man sentenced Thursday to ten to 15 years in prison for manslaughter in the shooting death of another man.
Sigmund Floyd Rumpf was originally charged with open murder and felony firearms in the shooting death of Steven Michael Kauffman in July of 2015. He was sentenced Thursday to ten to 15 years in prison for manslaughter and two years each on two separate firearms charges.
Kauffman was killed in the area of Marsh Road and Wildwood Road near Gun Lake. He was found laying in the middle of the road.
