When Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer Ronald Maynard took a police report recently from an 11-year-old boy who had his bike stolen, he knew he had to try to help.

PSO Maynard spent the rest of his shift looking for the bike, but was not able to locate it. On his days off, Maynard decided to buy 11-year-old Percy a new bike.

He brought it to work with him, and Monday night he personally delivered it to Percy at his house. The Facebook page for Downtown Kalamazoo Cops posted the story Tuesday morning, along with pictures, reporting Percy and his family were very grateful, and they are proud to have PSO Maynard as one of their own.
