New Holland launches special beer for Grand Rapids Football Club

Posted

HOLLAND, Mich. – The New Holland Brewing company is doing something special for the Grand Rapids Football Club.

They are giving the team their own official beer.  The golden lager is called “Extra Time” and it launched Friday night at the New Holland Brewery.

But you don’t need to wait until the end of regulation to try Extra Time, it’s now available on tap at several bars and restaurants in West Michigan.

When they decided to create a unique beer for G.R.F.C., New Holland collaborated with them to come up with the perfect brew.

“We came out and brewed the beer with them,” Said Matt Roberts, President of the G.R.F.C. “Put all the ingredients in and had a good time with it. I think it’s cool for our community. But I also think it’s very exciting for our club.”

Matt goes on to say that just like the team, the new beer is smooth with a good kick.

The new beer debuted Friday night, just before an exhibition game between G.R.F.C. and Hope College.

And G.R.F.C. now has something no other team in major league soccer has.

“There are no other in the MLS and all the way down. There is not a team that has their own beer. Like GRGC does. And that’s all part of the West Michigan beer culture that we have. So it was thrilling to have New Holland come on board.” Said Eric Albertson, the VP of the Grand Army.

And while the game of soccer continues to grow and expand, fans in West Michigan can now watch the boys in blue with a unique beer brewed for their team.
