GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The John Ball Zoo kicked off its 125th birthday celebration Sunday.
The festivities will feature a different animal being honored with a birthday party each day. The Tigers were featured during Sunday’s first day of the 125-day celebration, which will continue through Aug. 19.
“Our 125th birthday allows us to showcase what a phenomenal zoo we are today,” said John Ball Zoo CEO Peter D’Arienzo.
The zoo is located one mile west of downtown on Fulton Avenue in Grand Rapids.
Hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through May 6. On May 7, the hours will expand to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
