GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The John Ball Zoo kicked off its 125th birthday celebration Sunday.

“Our 125th birthday allows us to showcase what a phenomenal zoo we are today,” said John Ball Zoo CEO Peter D’Arienzo.

The zoo is located one mile west of downtown on Fulton Avenue in Grand Rapids.

Hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through May 6. On May 7, the hours will expand to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
