MASON, Mich. (AP) — A Michigan high school baseball coach says he’s proud of how members of his team dealt with delays with their bus breaking down three times during a trip to Florida.
The Lansing State Journal reports Mason High School baseball team members, their coach Scott Berman and chaperones left for Florida on April 2, returning home 3 p.m. Monday after having been expected home Sunday afternoon.
In Tennessee, the driver filled the diesel-fueled bus with gasoline, and it wouldn’t start when the group stopped for breakfast in Georgia. On April 6, the bus again broke down on a two-hour trip to Marlins Park in Miami. Again in Georgia April 9, the power steering went out around 10 p.m.
Students missed a school day.
