GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A Grand Rapids bar and restaurant is back open for business after a short suspension of their liquor license.
The Rezervoir Lounge reopened Thursday night. The bar’s liquor license was suspended earlier this week by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission after they found out about a Euchre tournament the bar held in February. The tournament was deemed as illegal gambling.
In a post on Facebook announcing the reopening, the operators of Rezervoir say that the issue was actually due to a mistake they made in licensing nearly 11 years ago that didn’t come to light until the Euchre tournament in February. The mistake apparently showed a conflict of interest between the business ownership and the license holder. In the post, they say the mistake was not intentional and didn’t come to light for over ten years.
The operators say in the post that they paid a fine and have met with the MLCC to resolve the issue.
