WEST MICHIGAN– Safe to say we are all tired of cold, wintry weather. First the bad news, more is on the way. Now the good news, Spring-like weather will return later next week.
Here’s why. Look at the image below, the white arrows are highlighting the jet stream. Think of it as a weather conveyor belt. The jet stream is pulling arctic air and snow over Michigan. This pattern will stay in place for the weekend, but will shift as we head throughout the rest of the week.
The image below shows where the warm and cold air masses will be over the weekend. By Monday that chilly air will move Northeast and warmer air will move in, reminding us that it is indeed Spring.
Let’s talk about the snow coming in around noon tomorrow. Most spots in West Michigan will see between 1 and 2 inches, but a finger of heavier snow will bring areas North of I-96 2 to 4 inches. The snow will stick around all day Friday and will let up overnight into Saturday. Expect to come across a few flurries during the day on Saturday.
