PORTAGE, Mich. — A kitten stranded in a tree was rescued by a public safety officer this week.
Multiple calls came into the Portage Department of Public Safety Tuesday around 11:44 a.m. regarding a kitten stuck in a tree in the 2100 block of Jacamar.
Police say when Officer Schuler arrived, without hesitating, he scaled the tree in “cat-like fashion” to bring the kitten down safely. The kitten was about 20 feet up the tree.
“Larry” the kitten was taken to the SPCA of Southwest Michigan. Larry looks to be a grey tiger stripe and was found with no identification collar.
If Larry belongs to you, or for information on adoption, you can contact the SPCA at 269.344.1474.
