GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man sought by police since late December was arrested Tuesday in Grand Rapids.
Fredrick Gibbs was wanted on several charges, including assault with intent to murder, armed robbery and first-degree home invasion. Those charges were connected to an August 2015 incident in the 1100 block of Alexander SE. Gibbs was also wanted for violating parole.
Grand Rapids Police and officers with a federal task force searched a pair of homes on the city’s Southeast side Dec. 21, 2015 after receiving tips that Gibbs could be there.
Police say they noticed Gibbs Tuesday afternoon on the porch of a home in the 800 block of 5th Street NW. After a brief stand off, Gibbs surrendered and was taken into custody.
He is expected to be arraigned as early as Wednesday, according to police.
