GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Gilda’s LaughFest is inviting the public out to recapture a world record they once held: The Largest Rubber Chicken Toss.
LaughFest and participants in Grand Rapids originally set the record at the Community Kickoff event back in 2011 with a total of 925 rubber chickens tossed all at once. That record was broken by a church in Canada when they tossed 999 rubber chickens.
LaughFest wants the record back.
On March 10 starting at 5:30 p.m., organizers will provide 1,200 rubber chickens to people who gather at Calder Plaza in downtown Grand Rapids. The program starts at 6:30 p.m. and the official attempt to reclaim the record will happen at precisely 6:45 p.m.
LaughFest has turned the Community Kickoff into a fun way to get ready for all the comedy acts that come to perform throughout the festival.
