CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A woman who was a passenger on an ORV that crashed through the ice on a local lake on February 13 has died.
A post Tuesday on the GoFundMe page for Emily Patin says that she died Monday night.
Lee Avery, 52, was driving an ORV on Crystal Lake about 8:00pm on Saturday, February 13 when he lost control on the ice and crashed through a fenced-in area and into a hold in the lake ice, where a Polar Dip had taken place earlier in the day. The ORV plunged into the lake.
Avery died that night at a hospital and Emily was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Two others also on the ORV were able to get out of the water.
