NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- A Virginia woman won $100,000 when she purchased a lottery ticket her friend rejected.
Lucille Harrelson and some of her friends went to a Wawa to buy some scratch-offs. One of her friends started to buy the ticket but changed her mind and purchased a different ticket, according to WTKR.
Harrelson bought the winning scratch-off ticket and took it back to her office. She scratched off the ticket, but did not believe it was a winner until workers at the Virginia Lottery’s Hampton Roads Customer Service Center confirmed it was worth $100,000.
She said she has no immediate plans for her winnings.
