PORTAGE, Mich. - A dog rescue organization had their trailer stolen Monday morning and they are turning to social media to get it back.

Brad Kuchmek, the owner of that trailer, is baffled as to why someone would steal a piece of equipment that was being used for such a good cause. The group Second Chance for Greyhounds of Michigan used that trailer for moving equipment, but also brought it along with them to events to promote the group's cause.

"At first I didn't think it was stolen, I thought maybe it rolled down in the road or something," said Brad.

Luckily, Brad was able to capture the entire theft on newly purchased security cameras. He posted that video to the Second Chance for Greyhounds' Facebook page Monday night.

According to Brad on Facebook, there has been a sighting of the trailer heading south, possibly to Tennessee. Also, the trailer appears have been stripped of its decals and repainted.

Now, Brad is left to plead with the thieves, hoping they'll do the right thing.

“Just return it," he said.  "It’s for a non profit group so, that’s the thing that really gets me the most.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help out.Click here if you want to donate.
