ROCKFORD, Mich. – City leadership in Rockford is working together on daily operations issues since City Manager Michael Young has been hospitalized after a stroke.
In a release sent out Tuesday, the Chief of Public Safety Dave Jones is working directly with Mayor Gerald Coon and the Rockford City Council and other senior leadership at the city on day-to-day issues.
Jones said in the release that residents shouldn’t see any change in service hours or services. “The City has an excellent team in place who are all working together to ensure things run smoothly,” said Jones. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael and his family at this time.”
Young has served as City Manager since 1995 and is in his late 40s. The stroke happened in just the last couple of days.
The city says that updates will be shared periodically on social media. Click here for the City of Rockford Facebook page.
