BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A 19-year-old teen is in critical condition after a shooting in Battle Creek on Sunday morning.
According to a homeowner on Cleveland Street, the teenager and his brother were at her door at 5 a.m. and said that he had been shot in the stomach.
She said she called 911 and emergency crews picked the victim up.
Police told FOX 17 the teenager and his brother were at a party at the corner of Harrison Street and Tennyson Ave.
The victim’s brother told officers the two were walking in the area of Capital and Rittenhouse Ave when they heard shots fired. That’s when the teenager realized he was shot.
Officers said they spoke to the victim before the shooting while responding to parking complaints at the party.
Last we heard, the teenager was in surgery.
The shooting is still under investigation.
