PORT HURON, Mich. (AP) — Tests show a young woman who entered a Port Huron yard and was killed by dogs was drunk and had used cocaine and marijuana.
The Dec. 3 death of Rebecca Hardy has been ruled a suicide because authorities believe she knew the risk of climbing over a fence and entering the yard. Toxicology results were released Friday.
Oakland County medical examiner L.J. Dragovic says Hardy had a blood-alcohol level of 0.23, nearly three times the threshold for drunken driving. He doesn’t know when the 22-year-old used marijuana and cocaine, although cocaine rapidly breaks down.
A pit bull, a husky and a pit bull-husky were euthanized with the owner’s consent.
The St. Clair County prosecutor’s office will decide whether to take any further action
