KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Downtown Kalamazoo is about to get a new a sushi restaurant.
Maru Sushi & Grill is planned for the Depot building at 427 E. Michigan Ave. The restaurant will offer sushi, soups, salads and noodle dishes. They will also have a liquor license.
The restaurant is owned by Robert Song who also owns restaurants inGrand Rapids, East Lansing, Okemos and Midland. Song is spending about $650,000 in remodeling the space.
The restaurant is expected to employ about 35 people. It is expected to open later this summer.
