BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A gas station clerk is recovering from injuries, after a man armed with a hammer attacked them and robbed the station early Monday morning.

It happened at around 3:30 a.m. at the Citgo station on Capital Ave NE in Battle Creek.  Police say a man with a scarf around his face walked in, attacked the attendant with a claw hammer, and robbed the station.  The victim was able to escape and hail a passing cab to call for help.
