GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Local restaurant Brewery Vivant is celebrating its fifth year of business in Grand Rapids.

Owner Jason Spaulding said that five years seems like a good amount of time to reflect and celebrate their customers, employees, and special beers.

“We’ve had a really good response from the public [and] the media, it’s been awesome. Patrons are really excited. The most excited are probably our staff; we’ve got 7 staff who have been here since the day we opened, [and they’re] still here today, which is kinda cool.”

To commemorate the occasion, special guests the Bootstrap Boys will be performing and they will be releasing their first barrel-aged ale in bottles – marking the first time the brewery has released a bottled beer.

In addition to the celebrations, the brewery also hosted a fundraiser for Congress Elementary, the results of which they will reveal later in the evening.

On to the next five years, Spaulding said that he’s looking forward to enhancing their sour and wood-age beer program, in addition to experimenting with farming.

Brewery Vivant is located on 925 Cherry Street SE and will be open until 10 PM Sunday.
