ROCHESTER, Minn. — Adam Sallet was in the middle of a live report from a bank that had been robbed for the second time in two days when he suddenly ran off camera to chase the robber.
Sallet was live on KIMT in Rochester, which is south of Minneapolis, when a bank employee ran out of the building, pointed and said to Sallet, “It’s that guy right there.”
“What?” said Sallet.
“That’s the robber,” said the bank employee.
“That’s the robber,” repeated Sallet. “Uh, this is live TV, folks. That’s the robber that just went by, according to the bank employee. So, I gotta go here and call 911. I’ll talk to you later.”
He then ran off the screen, leaving the anchor back at the station to pick up the slack.
After police arrived and got the robber’s description, an officer spotted the suspect about an hour later and took him into custody, KIMT reported online.
