Grand Rapids police searching for sexual assault suspect

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Police are searching for the suspect in a sexual assault that happened Sunday morning.

According to a release, the assault happened at about 7:30 a.m. in the area of Plainfield Avenue and Rupert Street NE.

The suspect is described as a white man between 5 feet 8 and 6 feet tall with a slim build.  He was wearing a dark coat and had the lower half of his face covered by a dark scarf, according to police.

No other information about the incident has been released at this time.
