Two Wyoming streets remain closed due to water main breaks

WYOMING, Mich. — Two streets in the City of Wyoming remain closed Wednesday due to earlier water main breaks. Clyde Park Avenue is closed between 28th Street and 32nd Street, while Kenowa Avenue remains closed north of 56th Street.

A water main broke and flooded the street in the late night hours of Monday into Tuesday morning at Clyde Park Avenue and Cricklewood Street. The city reports the water main is repaired and water service has been resumed to nearby residences, but completing road repairs requires keeping the street closed until Thursday morning. It was originally hoped a lane would be opened in each direction Tuesday afternoon.

On Kenowa Avenue, a water main undermined the pavement on Thanksgiving night, and the city reported on its Facebook page that restoration of the main and the pavement proved to be more complicated as work progressed. Kenowa Avenue is expected to remain closed north of 56th Street until Thursday morning.
