EAST BAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — A man has died in a cabin fire at a resort on Arbutus Lake in Grand Traverse County.
Firefighters responded to the scene after the owners of Mac’s Landing Resort in East Bay Township reported just after 6:30 a.m. Sunday that they heard loud noises and saw flames shooting from one of their rented cabins.
The Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department says the man was found dead inside the cabin after firefighters extinguished the blaze. No other injuries were reported.
The man’s identity hasn’t been released, but the department says he was in his 40s.
Investigators were continuing to look into the cause of the fire late Sunday afternoon.
A joint investigation with the Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Department is ongoing.
