GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Some major U.S. soccer stars will be visiting Grand Rapids this summer.
The Grand Rapids Football Club (GRFC) announced that Landon Donovan, Brian Ching and Stuart Holden will be bringing the Helm Soccer Youth Camp to Grand Rapids in July of 2016. The three-day camp will be held at the MVP Fieldhouse in Cascade. The camp will be designed for 10-18 year old players.
Helm was founded and is run by Donovan, Ching and Holden. In addition to the camp, Helm will be spending time with GRFC staff, coaches, players, and fans to help promote the game of soccer in West Michigan and raise funds for local charities.
“We couldn’t be more excited that Landon, Brian, and Stu are coming to put on a camp here in Grand Rapids” said GRFC President Matt Roberts in a news release posted on the GRFC website. “To be chosen as a host city for one of Helm Elite’s camps is truly an honor. It is a testament to the growth of the game here in West Michigan and our fans who made it clear to Helm that this is a great market to be in. We are looking forward to not only hosting the camp, but putting on a few events that weekend as well to raise money for charities around the city so we can continue to give back to the community that supports us”.
Grand Rapids FC is a 4th tier Men’s team that competes in the National Premier Soccer League Midwest Division.
