GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A new local business, Boldsocks opened their doors for a soft opening Saturday morning. The shop is located on Division Ave. in downtown Grand Rapids and they only sell one thing: socks.
They have a huge variety of colors and patterns for both men and women. Boldsocks is close to a million dollar company, but it all started as a joke between friends. Owner and Creative Director Ryan Roff says his friends would challenge each other to wear the boldest socks to work, which spiraled into launching an online store. Eventually, the online store grew so much they decided to open their very first retail store right in Grand Rapids.
Roff says they chose to sell socks because they allow men and women to express themselves. Roff adds that for those who find themselves in corportate jobs wearing professional business attire, it can be fun to notice who's wearing funky socks.
The official grand opening of Boldsocks is on Friday, December 4th.
