DENVER TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Mt. Pleasant teen was injured and a horse was killed in an early morning crash in Isabella County.

The sheriff’s department says that the 18-year-old Mt. Pleasant teen was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier west on E. Beal City Road just east of Summerton Road at about 6:00am Tuesday, when she hit a horse that was standing in the roadway.  Deputies determined the horse had escaped from a fenced enclosure nearby.

The horse suffered serious injuries and had to be put down.  The teen was wearing her seat belt and suffered facial injuries.  She was taken to a local hospital.
