SARANAC, Mich. -- Four sets of twin calves were born over the course of six weeks on a farm on Rickert Road in Saranac.
Owner, Ed Tichelaar grew up on the farm first moving there in 1951. He says he's been breeding cattle for about 60 years, but he's never seen anything like this.
Four out of six cows had twins, something that local veterinarian, Dr. Lisa Sanford says is pretty uncommon.
Sadly, one of the calves died but the other seven are doing well.
Ed says the farm hasn't had twins in over 40 years and that this was definitely a big surprise.
