HOUSTON, Texas — The ‘Star Wars’ fan whose last wish to see ‘The Force Awakens’ was granted only days ago, has passed away and is now one with The Force.
Daniel Fleetwood was just 32 years old when he lost his battle with cancer this week. He suffered from a rare form of spindle cell carcoma.
A huge fan of Star Wars, Fleetwood’s dying wish was to see ‘The Force Awakens’ before it debuted in theaters, because he was told by doctors that he wouldn’t live long enough to see it. He had massive amounts of support from people around the country who joined the #ForceForDaniel campaign, including from Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill. Just days ago, Disney, LucasFilm, and director J.J. Abrams granted his wish, and showed him an early cut of the film at his home.
